Stayed one night in the Parador at Ciudad Rodrigo and wished we could have stayed longer. The hotel was excellent in all respects - very sympathetically restored castle only a few minutes walk to the main Plaza. We have been in several "Paradores" and this is one of the best. The place is simply amazing. A medieval castle renovated keeping its authentic flavour nonetheless and the decoration is simply . The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful and the restaurant was great. Parking is free of charge. more

A nice place, well signposted to reach it (not always the case in Spain!) but then one is left to search out the reception and, having checked in, baggage access is deliberately made difficult.
