We loved the del Oso. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfy and open onto a courtyard with a wonderful view of the mountains. The food was plentiful and delicious. We stopped there during the dry season (winter) and one should realized it is awfully dusty.The hotel is right next to the bumpy road and you hear heavy trucks passing very early in the morning. This is a owner operated, and built operation. The effort is there but the operation is below average. The owner does have access to a site overlooking the canyons, that is spectacular!! It's worth putting up with "no choice menu" , rough roads, and vehicles that don't work , to see the spectacular vistas. more
