This much-anticipated trip turned out to be very disappointing for a number of reasons. It was the first visit for my wife and I to a barra fishing lodge in the top end. We did not receive any communication or help from the lodge owners prior to our visit except a number of email requests for the balance payment (even... More

We six come to Clearwater from Melbourne about twice a year. It's the last stop going north in Australia before you strike Timor or Bali . I like August to November. The others like mid year.. It's all about fishing though. We go out at 7am & come back at 5, And we catch fish. This time we caught 108... More

This is a very special, unspoilt location - true wilderness. Fishing was great, even though it was officially "off season". Plenty of barra in the creeks, good fun catching mud crabs, and the day out on the blue water was unbelievable. Couple this with hosts that know the true meaning of hospitality, along with some incredible meals, and this truly... More

From the moment we got off the plane, we were treated as if we were the only people at the Lodge. Our hosts, Michael & Kerri, bent over backwards to make our stay memorable. We felt like family. The food was amazing and just so fresh. We are definately going to be regulars at Clearwater Island Lodge. More

We went there for the fishing and the location and were in no way disappointed. Accommodation was quite comfortable and the service, especially from Dave, was great.. Thirteen different species of fish in just two days: gt's, barra, snapper, threadfin salmon and lolts more as well as a good few crocs on show. Also, can't finish without saying how great... More

The trip was pleasant and the food really nice. But what we found the hardest was that dinner is always served way too late. More
