Difficult to find very good places to stay in this area of Marche region. The Palazzo of Princess Pignatelli is very impressive with its antique furnitures and paintings. The staff at reception desk was very helpful for tips and reservations in local excellent sea food restaurants in San Benedetto del Tronto. Breakfast was nice under a charming pergola with a... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for your positive review on the Borgo. We are very happy that your stay was a positive surprise! The Borgo is a boutique relais with eleven rooms, hence peace and quiet are part of the experience. We are very pleased that Maria Rita was helpful in making your stay unforgettable. It is ten years that she... More

As soon as I looked at the website I knew that this would be the ideal location following a week's retreat in Gubbio. I was a little concerned that as a non-driver it mght be difficult to reach by public transport however the wonderful Emma and Maria patiently answered all my e-mails and this confirmed that the Borgo Storico would... Dear Mrs. O'Regan, It was a great pleasure to meet you in August and thank you so so so much for taking the time and attention to write the most kind and gentle review of the Borgo. We are always happy to host single travellers as they contribute a lot to our daily lives: there is more time to "chat"... More

My husband and I spent a week here in early August. Best points: the staff, first and foremost, and particularly David, who works in the restaurant - in fact he seems to run it single handed! Nothing was too much trouble for him. Also, the castle itself, which is quite magical, and the peaceful gardens. The location is both good... More

Positives: 1. A palatial building - a bit like a stately home - with lots of fabulous stuff everywhere, including two lovely old red setters to say hello to. 2. Retains its coolness in the heat of an Italian summer but our room had very efficient aircon as well. 3. Some of the friendliest staff I have ever met -... More

Dear NWH56, Thank you so much for the positive review on the Borgo. The main Villa is a "Palazzo" and it has been in our family for centuries, making it today, through the experiences of our guests, a "living monument". The two irish setters - loved by all the Borgo staff - are brother and sister and are called Brass... More

There is a choice of palace hotel or 2 bed appartments set in attractive grounds with restaurant and pool. Well placed greenery hides the industry in the town below (which is ugly) so you can enjoy the hills beyond and the gardens. There is a motorway on the other side of the valley which is audible but not too disruptive.... More

We enjoyed 2 weeks of pleasant relaxation, the facilities are excellent and the staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast was under a roof of vines in a historic setting and the pool area is well-kept and uncrowded. There is a breathtaking view of the valley and the mountains to the east and we just loved it all! The restauant, albeit rather... More

It was a pleasure to host you and we are very happy you were able to enjoy the natural and historic beauties of our grounds. This is a glorious old and very spacious house packed full of lovely antiques. It really is stunning. Our room - one of their cheapest at 150 euros was outstanding value, and had a quiet elegance. No there are no power showers or modern flat tv screens just comfortable, charming furniture, a very decent sized bed, and a lovely bathroom.... More

Dear Paul5, Thank you so much for your kind and positive review of July! All the antiques in our home are from past generations that have collected them in Italy, England and Asia. Our historic garden was designed in 1875 by Ludwig Winter a german botanist and today it is part of the Association Great Italian Gardens (www.grandigiardini.it) and has... More

My wife and I stayed here for four nights as part of our honeymoon. The place is more of a high class guest house than a hotel, and good antidote if you get frustrated by chains and their generic customer service. The staff were the friendliest and most helpful that we experienced on our trip. Dining at the restaurant was... More

Thanx to my husband who has such a talent for finding the best places to stay in the world, we were guests at the Borgo Storico Seghetti Paninchi. Dear Italiefan, Thank you so much for the heart felt review you wrote on the Borgo in 2010. In these few years we have improved enormously the gardens, planting new flowers and trees that add that extra touch of magic to the whole experience. The bio energetic areas are still our favourite aspect of the gardens as people enjoy so... More
