We stayed at Stableford House for just one night as a side trip on our journey from Melbourne to Sydney. My wife and I stayed in one room and my father and brother stayed in another room. My brother had stayed there once before with another couple and had pleasant memories from his previous stay.

Jane was a wonderful host and gave us tea and cookies as soon as we arrived. The cooked breakfast the next day was delicious.

We chose this location as a base to visit the Rutherglen wine country. Howlong itself is a tiny town, but the nearby golf course has a suprisingly large clubhouse where we had a nice evening meal.

Jane did mention that the B&B was for sale, so I am not sure if the new owners will keep up the good work, but they are sure getting a nice place with lovely facilities and lovely gardens. more
