recently spent 2 nights and couldnt have been more pleased. A friendly welcome, food to die for and room 1 spotlessly clean and well decorated. Wont hesitate to stay again next time. More

We had to find a pet-friendly hotel at short notice and found the Anchor Inn on a dog-friendly accommodation website. We arrived to a very warm welcome and were shown to a lovely room (1) at the top of the stairs. It was immaculately clean, beautifully and tastefully decorated, with a huge bathroom! Even though it faced the road, it... More

Our experience - the rooms are in an extension behind the inn, approached by a Upvc door leading directly onto a dirty staircase smelling strongly of damp, heavily overlaid by cheap room spray. We were taken to room no 5 which was very dingy and decorated in 1950's style in brown and... More

We are very disappointed that you did not enjoy your stay with us. To try and cover all points, the stair well up to the b and b is new however it is not an exention of the old building but a rebuild and the rooms are all in the old building. I can only think that the damp smell... More

Stayed here for two nights in July 2011, and it was a very pleasant stay. We had a double room, with two camp beds for the kids, perfectly suitable for a two night stay. Good size room and very big en-suite. Nice decor and very clean. Breakfast was excellent, good food and service. Will stay here again, as we have... More

Sadly arrived late as would have liked to try the evening meal menu, if the following mornings breakfast was anything to go by. Room a bit cramped with double put you up for the kids being the issue, but clean and well equipped room with en-suite. More
