Myself and 3 friends of mine stayed at Hotel Alp for one week in January 2013. Our second time in Japan skiing, but first in Myoko. We stayed in two rooms, twin western style accommodation, which is fairly typical of what you find back home in Aus. The rooms were good size for Japan standard. The highlight of the stay... More

Lovely little hotel in a nice village with great skiing. This was our third ski trip to Japan but our first to Myoko - will definitely not be our last. The Alp is a great little hotel run by a really helpful couple - they greatly assisted us when my husband had to seek medical assistance for what turned out... More

I stayed at Hotel Alp for 3 weeks in March (near the end of the season) in a Japanese style Tatami room and loved every minute of it. All rooms have access to a shared balcony and they are quite big and kept perfectly clean. Aside from the comfy layered mattress on the floor there is a low table and... More

Our group of 6 adults greatly enjoyed our 5 night stay at Resort Hotel Alp, Myoko Kogen. Satomi was so welcoming and helpful and her husband collected our luggage from our previous hotel ( see review of Hotel Moc) so we could ski all day and do " ski check in", a first for us! We had Western rooms which... More

Spacious Japanese style tatami room, truly ski in/out and a decent breakfast. Very helpful and friendly owners. Would go back, but might try a bigger ski town next time as eating and entertainment options are limited in Myoko.

We love the Alp and our dear friend Satomi. The skiing is great, the hotel is genuine ski in-ski out and Satomi is a welcoming hostess with good English. The Japanese rooms are large and while the ensuite bathrooms are standard Japanese modules, there are both indoor and outdoor onsens which are just the thing after a tough day on... More

We booked this hotel through a travel agent, something I dont usually do, but as this was an area I had no knowledge of, it was good to do it at least once. The hotel looks large from the outside, being at five levels plus basement. However, it wasn't full of people, so didn't have a crowded feel. Our traditional... More

This is a well located hotel just a short walk to the village. In the morning put your skis on and ski down to the chair and in the afternoon just ski back to the front door. You couldn't ask for better. We stayed in a tradtional Japanese room which was nice and the beds comfortable. Our bathroom was split... More

My husband and I spent 8 nights at the Alp hotel in Akakura Onsen (Myokokogen) this December 2012 and really enjoyed the hospitality and atmosphere of the hotel. Very friendly staff, service was great, ammenities and rooms were clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the onsen every day after snowboarding, and had a couple of meals there which were great quality... This has to be the best hotel in Myoko and we can't wait to return next January. Satomi is a wonderful host and really makes you feel part of the family. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and we have stayed in both Western and Japanese en suite rooms, the latter being of a an excellent size and sleeping... More
