We stayed at Appleton's for 5 days and we have asolutely nothing to complain about whatsoever. Malcolm, Edward , Leo, and not forgetting Gobi, made us feel so welcome. The room was clean and comfortable, the farmhouse lovingly restored through Malcom's very hard work, the food cooked by Edward was delicious, and the gardens were a delight to sit in... more

A small & not very clean room. All bad bits that typify English B&B's abroad, without the bonuses. Made me so pleased to get home again and grateful it was only a 1 night stop. more

Management response from
Malcolm Appleton, Owner

The Wine Cellar is 16 square meters and has a wet room within the 16 square meters so we don't consider it to be a small poky room. This double was given to this single traveller at our normal single rate. As I am sure discerning people will see from our other reviews our home is never dirty, maybe a...

A great little find near Argenton.(found via trip advisor!) A quiet location - excellent hospitable hosts. Great home cooked food (I must remember to ask for the recipe for the spinach souffle with goats cheese topping!) Malcolm and Edward will try and cater for most diets- particularly if they know in advance. Children appear to be well looked after too.... more

This is a marvelous chambres d'hote experience. Our room was charming with a brand new bathroom, even with a towel warmer and multiple jet shower. Edward & Malcolm are excellent hosts and dinner was terrific, even going in the garden where the veggies were picked for that night's dinner. Cannot wait to go back next year. Sandy & Mark more

In August this year, my husband and I stayed at Appleton's for a week with our 5 yr old son. It was the best part of our tour in France as we were truely able to relax, safe in the knowledge that our son was safe and having fun. He just loved the pool and going on the bike in the... more
