Stayed overnight when visiting antique fair in Shrewsbury. Had dog so wasn't expecting great room but had a very nice ground floor courtyard room with all usual facilities. Stopped here for something to eat after visiting Attingham Hall which is nearby.Made to feel very welcome. Although it was between lunch and dinner time we were pleased to be able to get a hot meal.Good portions and we were given homemade bread to nibble on while waiting for our meal. More

Had a Saturday lunch, mussels followed by steak and my girlfriend fish cakes and tuna. My meal was nice enough but expensive for what you get, and the wine ridiculously priced. Fish cakes though had quite a few bones in. Not planning on returning again. More

Turned up at the hotel to be told that yes they had my booking but for some reason had allocated my room to someone else. No explanation and strangely the receptionist didn't even say the word 'sorry'! Was then told they had a room not currently being used due to a broken toilet and perhaps I could have that one...insulting?!... More

We chose this venue because of its suitability for our small wedding (46 guests). Everything was beautifully arranged - the ceremony and reception rooms were tastefully furnished and decorated, and had a lovely atmosphere.
