Just back from three nights at this lovely old Inn. The weather was dreadful but that just made the log fires more inviting. our room in the annexe was spacious and immaculate with an excellent ensuite, soft towels.robes and toiletries were really appreciated. There was also a choice of sparkling and still water on each bedside table. The breakfast and evening... more

We booked the Watermans Arms on a special rate of 60 pounds per double per night, and it was very good value. The pub is in a beautiful creekside location, but being a bit out on a limb you are more or less obliged to eat there if you want to drink alcohol. The food was mostly very good, apart... more

Just returned from a lovely weekend at this place which we used as a base whilst visiting my uncle. Staff very helpful and polite from the first telephone conversation. Booked special of 3 course DB+B for £50 pppn. V good value indeed. Good pub grub and lots of it! Nice choice of breakfast. I am, unfortunately a v light sleeper,... more

What a great place! Fab location, friendly service. A genuine country pub. Beer is kept well too! I would thoroughly recommend this for a weekend break in the autumn or winter - that is if there is any availability, I would imagine it gets a lot of return trade. We hope to return in the summer too, to enjoy sitting... more

I just wanted to leave a quick note to say how much myself and my partner enjoyed our stay at the Waterman's Arms. The setting, next to the riverside, was absolutely beautiful. and the fact we had no reception on our phone was a great excuse to turn them off and get away from everything properly. Our accommodation was very... more

I really wanted to like this place having driven past it many times and seen its beautiful setting but having stayed there all I can say is ‘what a disappointment’. All I wanted was bed and breakfast but they did both really badly. The room was clean but the mattress was perhaps the worst I’ve ever slept (tried to) on... more

I have never, ever received such a vicious review in my life, how anyone can be this unhappy with so many things, and not bring it to my attention is quite frankly, staggering. Please read the other, many, many happy reviews on trip advisor to get a more balanced review. I am glad you mention The Durant Arms and if...

This was our second stay at the Waterman's (2007 previously), each time for about five nights. We used the inn as our base for day tripping to Dartmouth, Dartmoor, and the rest of the area. It was wonderful to be able to return to a good room, have a nice pint/glass of wine, and settle in for delicious, interesting, local... more

We stayed at The Waterman's at the start of September 2009. The location is stunning, and very peaceful. We occupied five rooms, all of which were spotlessly clean. The power shower was great and the bed was very comfortable. We had pre-booked dinner at the nearby 'Maltsers' but would much prefer to eat here next time. Breakfast was served to... more

Riverside inn situated on Bow Creek part of the river Dart.We received a very warm welcome and shown to a comfortable, clean room overlooking the river. The en suite was immaculate and towels large and fluffy! There was the option of eating al fresco beside the river, under a sheltered but open dining room or in the restaurant. We chose the latter and were... more
