This place is magical. Arrived in the late afternoon as the sun was starting to set. Long walk to the base of the 200 steps that take you up to your villa. In hindsight I would have taken the essentials from my suitcase rather than the large case that the porter had to struggle with. The villa was lovely. So... More

We visited Rai Saeng Arun for the second time and found it just as good as before. The owner and staff are very helpful and friendly, even though they speak little english. Breakfasts overlooking the Mekong are simple but wonderful. We dined there both nights of our stay. The first night was perhaps the best meal of our four weeks... More

It seemed a long road to get here, but the entry with its tall hollyhocks was attractive and inviting. Check in was efficient even though Enlish was minimal. Then the young man hoisted our bags on his shoulders and took off on wooden walkways across paddy fields with vegetables and trees all around. Then I saw the staircase - 165... More

We stayed at Rai Saeng Arun on our way to Laos about two years ago but did not review at the time. Glad to see that the high standard is still being kept - by what i am reading with the good reviews. Our visit was only one night unfortunately, but the Rai Saeng Arun "extras" service of a pick... More

Drove 6 hours from Chiang Mai to this lovely resort. Planned poorly and drove the final 2 hours in almost total darkness but my room was ready when I arrived. Was given a "P" bungalow which probably meant the PEAK of the mountain. The 10 minute walk in near darkness from reception to room was as exhilarating as the drive.... More

A small and beaitiful boutique resort hotel with a unique style in Chiangkhong, chiangrai, a good taste of all kind of dishes, mostly Thai foods. The room are separated from each like a small hut in the mist of the peak, before you reach the rooms , have to pass the paddy field, with by the long walking way.All vegetables... More

Sitting on the Mekong river looking across to Laos this small and very personal resort is a gem, they grow everything themselves and the whole atmosphere and experience is very tranquil and unhurried.

This is a beautiful hotel located near Chiang Khong, Thailand on the Mekong River. Accommodation consists of spacious, nicely furnished individual bungalows. The service is friendly and helpful. The hotel grows most of the food it serves from rice, to strawberries, to a wide range of vegetables and herbs, all fee of artificial fertilisers. The fruit and vegetable gardens and... More

This is a beautiful set resort, with nice huts with wonderful views(ask for a riverview). It is quite expensive for what you get, and I was a little upset that they charged 700 Baht for putting a matress in the hut for my daughter, we had bedding for her with us but when they asked if we liked a bed... Stunning position overlooking Mekong River but rooms are located at top of very steep steps, which were hard to navigate in the dark and path leading from room was very slippy following monsoon rain. Breakfast was only average. Some distance from Chiang Rai.
