We stayed here for one night and had excellent service. We do not speak Japanese but had no problem communicating. Our daughter got sick and the staff was very helpful. We felt slightly mis-sold on this 'ryoken' compared to others we stayed at. It has more of a youth hostel feel to it, with communal social areas and a fairly grim-looking kitchen. Very dispointed. The guy who received us seems to be "unable" to smile and say any word, even in japanese. Diner is oversized compare to all other places in Japan (not really necessary).
