I have stayed in and eaten at hotels, restaurants and other accommodation, all over the world. This ranks as one of the best. The food is well up to 'Michelin' standard, presented without most of the pomp and showmanship associated with such establishments, don't expect bow ties and uniformed service, Tony, the patron, is quite likely to serve you and... My wife and I make a 13 hour drive from London just to stay here for the weekend. There are certain areas in which this place excels . The food is superb. Much better then the Mitchelling rated place that I have visited in that area. The rooms are very clean with pleasant little touches here and there. Friendly hosts... More

Stayed 1 night on way up west coast of Scotland. Room, hosts, food and location all superb! Stayed in the but and ben - fluffy duvet and towels, fab shower, spotlessly clean, all you could want. Pure luxury in idyllic location overlooking the loch. Lovely little restaurant with fantastic fresh fish, and excellent wine selection. Breakfast was top class. Wished... More

Our 2 week visit to Scotland ended with 3 days at Grants. What excellent value for money! The best food of our holiday - high lights included the warm scallop mousse with a crab and lobster bisque, sliced rump beef rolled around a pork and oatmeal stuffing and a belgian chocolate tart. After delicious meals we slept soundly in a... More

Excellent service, friendly hosts, genuine, the most exquisite food beautifully cooked and presented - I had A warm mousse of Hebridean diver caught scallops with Corran crab and squat lobster bisque which was definitely one of the finest starters I have ever had followed by Pan roasted breast of Gressingham duckling with black cherries and Amaretto and A selection of... We were recommended this place over a Michelin starred place that we were going to stay at. Glad we took the advice. We had a wonderful stay. The room was great (very comfortable bed) The dog was welcomed. We loved the quirky restaurant. I was a little concerned when we saw the size of it...but the food and choice of... More

Tucked away with a great view and just far enough off the beaten track to make it beautifully quiet. The room was small but well prepared and all the little extras, including the whisky minatures were top rate. The restaurant tucked round the corner looks over the garden which is home to many birds. Food was excellent, as was the... More

We arrived at Grants after a long drive from Lochinver, and it was such a pleasure to have a genuinely warm welcome from Tony, at the beginning of our all too short, two night stay. Tony ( co-proprietor, chef, raconteur, travel guide, etc etc.) , showed us round our suite, the But and Ben. The suite consists of a lounge... More

We tour the highlands in most years. We stayed at Grants for two nights last year and again just now. The food, room and hospitality shown are second to none. Definately not to be missed for anyone touring the Kyle of Lochalsh /Skye area, this is the best you will find. More
