This place is perfect for a few days spent rambling in the Cairngorms and drinking the finest whiskey on the planet. The hotel is simple, clean, comfortable and very informal which suited me very well. The rooms are basic and if you are looking for designer interiors you will be very disappointed but they are clean, the facilities are very... More

Stayed here for Hogmany 2011. Just loved it. The room was perfect. We had the candlelight dinner, very good, and then went down to the bar. This was such fun. A young piper came in just at midnight to play Auld Lang Syne, then everyone went out to the deck to watch fireworks. Drank some whisky with the locals and... More

We came to The Highlander Inn in order to explore Speyside and learn about scotch. Of course we planned our trip for the week when all distilleries were closed!! Duncan and his staff swooped in and saved the day. He found two epic whiskey shops that were open and we went in for tastings. It was so amazing!! The bar... More

Lunch with 4 adults and 4 kids on a wintery Sunday. Welcoming, helpful and friendly staff we all felt great that we had stumbled across the inn. Then the food arrived quickly which was an excellent standard for both us and the kids. We will be using the place again if passing through from Aberdeenshire to speyside or to the... More

Only visited the bar/restaurant, but they served an ok meal, that was quickly forgotten after some looking in to their whisky treasures. Fantastic selection of whisky, very competent staff, and a nice atmosphere More

Stayed for one night, had travelled up up from Edinburgh. Room was clean and comfortable. Food in bar was ok steak was fatty. Bar areas especially the couch seats need to be replaced or a good clean lots of stains. But I think the room price is very pricey for where you are and what you get. I know its... More

We stayed in the house just up the street from the hotel. We had two "double" (zip-loc/twin beds) rooms. The small downstairs sitting room was fine for a chill-out and had the only TV. The house strongly smelled of paint - and therefore looked freshly decorated! Nothing a good airing wouldn't fix. The house isn't really suitable for anyone over... More

We, as others do, spent 3 days in Craigellachie as we visited the Whiskey Trail. Duncan's hospitality convinced us we had made an excellent choice. Though there's only 5 guest rooms in the main building, the bar seemed to be quite a hustling center of activity in the town. A great mix of locals and international travelers. The whiskey selection... More

We stayed for one night while exploring the whisky trail, and had a fantastic meal/whisky tasting in the bar. While the food might have been in the "pub" style, it was perfectly prepared and excellent quality. It was worth the stay just to be able to eat and relax here before heading up to our rooms! The hotel didn't quite... More

The Highlander Inn is a clean, comfortable local pub in the small town of Craigellachie with a few rooms above it for people passing through. Its central location is ideal for checking out the many distilleries in the area, and it has a car park for convenience. It's not posh, but not shabby or dirty either. I'd recommend it and... More
