We stayed at the Sea Trout Inn for a three-night long weekend while attending a wedding in Exeter. The friendly greeting from Ann at check-in helped dispel the gloom of a ghastly drive from London. Our twin-bedded room was well appointed, with a very new bathroom and very comfortable beds. Food at the Inn far exceeded expectations: the seared salmon... More

This was our third stay at The Sea Trout but the first under the current ownership and it is even better. The bedrooms have been beautifully refurbished to a high standard and the public rooms are spotlessly clean and well maintained. The food is excellent with a good selection for all courses. The prices are very reasonable, and with it's... More

From the moment we arrived and were greeted and checked in by Ann the service was superb! Friendly, discreet and happily offered service from Sam and Jason's ( landlords ) team and themselves was always evident and what a lot of other places are missing. The food is pretty special too, much more than pub food and such a good... More

We stayed at the Sea Trout for our anniversary as a treat, we had fantastic accomodation, superb service & excellent food. The place is set in a tranquil, picturesque village which creates a very romantic ambience away from the hussle & bussle of everyday life with work, children etc.

Myself, my sister and my little dog stayed at the sea trout over the Easter weekend for the first time. On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff, our room was lovely, very comfortable , lots of space, the bathroom was fantastic and a little mat, blanket and bone had been left out for the dog which I thought was... My partner and I went here for her birthday and we were very impressed. The service was outstanding! The girls waiting on us were attentive and very cheerful and the barman was particularly knowledgeable when it came to his ales. The food was good and the establishment demonstrated value for money, so all in all a great experience and we... More

We stopped over for one night as a treat whilst the kids were away. I was hoping for a romantic weekend break (!!). Unfortunately it didnt turn out as expected. The room was freezing cold when we arrived; we did receive apologies for this because it had been forgotten to turn the heating on. The room was so cold we... More

We spent a night at the Sea Trout Inn recently. The room was excellent in every way, faultless. The food and drink choices were very good and breakfast fresh and delicious. So why not 5 stars? Because they insisted on charging me a higher rate for the room than advertised on their website. Because i rang and booked and was... More
