Unpretentious, unimproved, genuine village pub, rooms with food. This is a " you get what you see" hostelry, excellent overnighter, delightful village with castle and woodland walks, all very dog friendly.A real local buzz in the bar. Food more than adequate. Excellent value for money. More

Can't comment on the accomodation as only went to eat in a party, however all the food was homemade, brilliant light veg broth, perthshire lamb roast and a very tasty fruit crumble that majored on fruit rather than stodgy crumble. Excellent beer and modest drink prices all round. I understand the owner is called Oliver and like Oliver Twist we... More

We stayed for two nights and were made to feel very welcome. Although ther was a wide choice of place to eat within the area we decided to eat at the red lion inn and give full compliments to the chef! The food was excellent, cooked to our request and served exactly for the time requested. The bar area of... More

This inn has en suite rooms in a hundreds year old inn. The owners are wonderful, friendly people with a great bar that caters to locals and dining that is worth trying. They also were gracious enough to prepare the trout we caught, and the breakfast is an English breakfast to die for; especially if the chef serves his own,... More

Just back from a weekend break at the Red Lion. Needed a relaxing break and definately got it. Absolutely nothing to fault them on. The room was immaculate, the food absolutely fantastic and the service outstanding. The care taken with each guest was first class. Everybody was so welcoming and staff took time to advise on local attractions. Very dog... More

Just had one of the best weekends away in Scotland. Although only an hours travelling it was a real get away from it all. The room I stayed in was very comfortable and spacious would be perfect for a family. The bar was just perfect, great beer, pint was at the right temperature, but i had to try several just... More

From booking to checking out Jamie and his staff did everything efficiently and with a warm personal touch. Donald, the chef, cooks some excellent dishes and the menu has a good selection in all courses. We strongly recommend this pub for an enjoyable stay at a very reasonable cost. More

From the first moment you arrive a great sence of welcome comes over you. The atmosphere is superbly Scottish. The small village provides you with everything, even in the wee hours. Their rooms are perfectly clean with all comfort. The food is exellent. A great place highly recommendable. We surely return ASAP. More
