Although the chef checked us in fairly begrudgingly, the room with it's sloping roof and big comfortable bed made up for her lack of Christmas cheer. The bath was the most enormous I've ever been in and the breakfast poached eggs were perfect. More

If your looking for a weekend away who not think of Ashwell and other surrounding villages such as Barley and Bassingbourn. The Three Tuns hotel would be the perfect place for your stay - well priced, excellent location, very tidy comfortable and clean rooms, serves great meals in the pub and the full cooked breakfast very hearty and good. Having managed to find a date when a dozen of my family could meet at Ashwell (a central location) and been in regular email contact with Bill, the Landlord, I had a sudden panic when I saw the reviews on this site. However we were not disappointed! Because of a large booking for the local cycle club we were seated... More

I stayed one night in a single room with no ensuite. The lady who registered me was truly welcoming. My room was small and the bed was very uncomfortable; I imagine the mattress was well over 20 years old. The accommodation areas were tired and the carpet was disgustingly filthy. Dinner was wholesome food but was overpriced. Breakfast was well... More

Have patronised this pub for many years with great satisfaction. Visited in September 2011 and the sickly food and slovenly staff made the occasion horrid. It was a very disappointing experience. The staff behind the bar were discussing naked men featured on a TV programme in considerable detail and when asked about the red wines available admitted to not being... More

Every time we go to London we used to stop in Ashwell on the way back to Cambridge to have lunch in Three Tuns. When we first strated going there 5-6 years ago it was a very smart gastro pub with immaculately trained staff and great food. But not any more, I’m afraid. The food is still ok but I... More

We booked the room at the back for a family meal, and because there were so many of us they asked us to phone through the food orders in advance. My partner and I were running a few minutes late because we'd had a 2hr journey, and were there within 15mins of the time the table had been booked for,... More

We stayed here for one night to go to a friends wedding. The bar staff were helpful and friendly when we arrived, the rooms were standard and clean and the brekkie sorted out my hanover a treat in the morning! Can't ask for much more for the price! More

I booked three rooms for one night at the Three Tuns Hotel for myself, my elderly parents and my son's girlfriend. We were travelling from North Wales to attend my son's pass out parade at nearby Bassingbourn Barracks the next day. We had two double (en suite) rooms and the single (shared bathroom, but only shared with one other room).... More

Not impressed by manager but chef and bar staff very friendly. Feels tired and in need of lick of paint. Would expect much more for the price. More
