Day 1
One of the four best Buddhist temples in Guangzhou, located on the Liurong Road.
Perched on top of Yuexiu Hill, this five-story tower (also known as the Five-Story Pagoda) was built by Zhu Liangzu, one of the rulers of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) in testimony of his power.
Large public park that commemorates the Communist uprising. There's also a pavilion.
Day 2
A centuries old now revitalized district with restaurants, galleries and shops about one hour from Sun Yat Sen University by bus. For nearly half a century, Xiaozhou People's Hall has been a national landmark. This community center for cultural activities has hosted local folk artists and their works, attracting many young artists to share their creative passions.
Also known as the Guangdong and Canton river, the Pearl River is the third largest river in China. It is called Pearl River, because it has a stone island resembling a huge pearl. A cruise along the Pearl River in Guangzhou City has become a must for tourists.
The Wanguo Outlet Mall is the place to find the best deals on international brands along with plenty of restaurants. Nearby Jiangnanxi Road boasts good street-side deals and a less hectic feel than the crowded Tianhe District.
Day 3
A must-see attraction, with a history of more than 100 years and still in its original shape. The buildings are famous for their exquisite and mythical decorations, such as the brick carvings of historic figures. The temple also functions as a museum under the auspices of Guangdong Folk Arts Museum, exhibiting a variety of folk arts and crafts.
Built after the death of Sun Yatsen in 1925, this memorial features a grand theater and lecture hall that can seat 5,000 people.

Not recommended for the faint hearted, the largest street market in Guangzhou features 2,000 stalls, the most infamous section being the meat market where live chickens, cats, dogs, turtles and anteaters are frequently slaughtered on the spot to provide customers with fresh meat.
