Points of Interest
1. Parking Lot At Rt 325
There appeared to be plenty of parking room in this lot.
2. Horseshoe Trail Marker
This marker is located at the end of the Horseshoe trail.
3. Water
This small creek is a good place to get water.
4. Yellow Springs Ruins
Yellow Springs Village is an abandoned coal mining town. An Appalacian Trail mailbox register is located here.
5. Stream
One of several water sources in this section.
6. Rausch Gap Shelter
Rausch Gap Shelter has water and sleeps 8-10 people. There's also a nice campsite a few hundred yards down the trail.
7. Village of Rausch Gap
Here's a sign marking where the Village of Rausch Gap once was. Other than this sign, there was no evidence in the area indicating that a town had ever been here.
8. Parking Lot at Rt 443
This parking area at Rt 443 is big enough for a dozen cars or so.
