  • 1. 1900 Inn on Montford
    1900 Inn on Montford, Asheville

wonderful bed and breakfast on historic residential street; amazing rooms with shiatzu massage jacuzzi tubs and private garden patios, great food at breakfast, music on the porch by live bands, see note on SOUTHWIND, the blue grass band.

  • 2. The Corner Kitchen
    The Corner Kitchen, Asheville

very good food and casual elegance. we tried the pad thai and the trout with mandarin oranges. but they have a little bit of everything. may have to wait on a table but it's worth it. after you eat, browse among the great shops on this street.

blue grass music that you will love. They play in the sitting room at the Inn on Montford during social hour. Great fun.

  • 4. Pisgah Inn
    Pisgah Inn, Waynesville

the view is breath-taking from the dining room, so stop by as you drive up the blue ridge parkway. then take a hike...trails right there at the inn or drive 10 miles up the road to graveyard fields and hike to the waterfalls!

  • 5. Salsa Mexican Caribbean Food
    Salsa Mexican Caribbean Restaurant, Asheville

    adventurous food and very tasty

  • 6. Biltmore Estate
    Biltmore Estate, Asheville

everyone sees this when they come to asheville, but we recommend the behind the scenes tour; then rent some bikes and ride around the estate...stop by the pond and feed the geese...bring lots of bread and your camera.

  • 7. Cottages at Spring House Farm
    http://www.springhousefarm.com

secluded farm with pond and cabins in the woods...romantic and private with hot tub on the deck, a massage therapist offering couples massages, grill your own steaks that you buy at the office, listen to the owners talk about restoring their 1800's farm house, quaint and friendly.

  • 8. The Cove Conference Center
    http://www.bgtc.info

This is Billy Graham's conference center. Beautiful. Come for a visit, tour the chapel, take a drive, stay for a conference or a private retreat. Take a little meditation walk beside the chapel. Drop a prayer request in the box and let someone pray for you. Refreshing.

  • 9. reader's corner book store, 31 montford avenue
