Whether you are 20, 40 or 60, you will enjoy many things in Venice, California. For a day or weekend trip, one must be sure to plan to spend a few hours on the Venice Beach Boardwalk. You may have seen it on the news or in a documentary but there is nothing quite like a real hands on experience. From the diversity of people to the array of things to look at and buy, all right next to the Pacific Ocean is something truly hard to just talk about! The cacophony of sites and sounds is amazing. You can experience the taste delights of a Hot Dog on a Stick or a Tofu burger. Like the people, the eats are full of variety and fun.
If you are into architecture you will be delighted by the array of old and new homes and buildings all around you. From restored (or not!) Craftsman homes, California bungalows, and newly designed modern buildings, there is much to see and photograph. Oh yeah, did I say photograph? Well this is a haven for the amateur or pro! From the faces, to the muscles, to the piercings, to budding sand castles and the endless ocean, be ready to click away to preserve memories of your day. You will leave with a smile on your face and the desire to come back to this inexpensive and spirited place. It's a "can't wait to tell your friends" kind of experience!

  • 1. Sunset Grill Santa Monica

Just a few minutes from the beach, this little eatery located on Ocean Park and 17th is a diners' delight. A small and cozy eatery blasting with variety and flavor it's European influence makes it a not to miss experience. I recommend viewing the wonderful dlei case of salads and designing your own two or three combination salad for a full meal experience. My husband would say go for the pork tenderloin or drunken chicken meal a more hearty experience. Adding (or sharing) one of the scrumptious desserts will complete your culinary experience. Prices are great for all that you get. You could even share a three combo salad and dessert and be happy. One of my favorite all time places to eat in ALL of Soutern California. Minutes from the beach, close to many things in Santa Monica, Venice, Mar Vista, etc. ENJOY!
