During this guided tour you will definately see the Frari church,
the smallest street of Venice and the old prositution area

  • 8. Harry's Bar
    Harry's Bar, Venice

16:00 Of course, while were splurging we cannot miss Harry's bar for the one and only real Bellini, like kings and queens have done befor you!

  • 9. Ristorante la Feluca
    Ristorante la Feluca, Venice

18:00 go for early dinner near the hotel (not too expensive and quite nice). This way you can get to the hotel early to take a bath etc and go to bed early for a really great day of romance tomorrow (this was our wedding day, so for us a big night in the beautiful room, getting ready, putting curlers in my hair etc.)

  • 10. Rosa Salva
    Rosa Salva, Venice

Day 3 09:30 Pick up the perfect cake at one of the stores of Rosa Salva and give it time to get to roomtemperature (most brilliant semifredo cakes! They also deliver and have several shops throughout Venice...check out their website for more info).

Now is a perfect time for a gondola ride, early in the morning, not too busy, nice time to score a deal. Just go to the Gondola stations at Canal Grande where they will offer you a gondola ride.

  • 11. Teatro La Fenice
    Teatro La Fenice, Venice

12:00 First light a candle at Chiesa Santo Stefano with the beautiful wooden roof, enjoy the vibe, the silence.

19:00 The perfect splurge dinner. Make sure you have reservations for the small alcove inside and have the Romantic menu for two (again: mention that in your reservation). The recipes used are from the 16/17th century and all food is devine!
Best meal I ever had (okay, I am a foody and archaeologist, so for me the combination was excellent)

  • 15. Murano
    Murano

Day 4: tell the receptiondesk you want to go to Murano. They have an arrangement with a glassfactory and they will take you for free with a watertaxi to Murano and you get a tour at a glassfactory. You are not obliged to buy anything. Keep in mind that you have to arrange transportation back: Vaporetto goed to Burano and back to Venice, but make sure you have a vaporetto ticket (buy ahead)

11:00 The atmosphere in Murano is more village-like, very different with a great history (Romans already lived here)

A novel you can read before going (to make it come alive) is ' The glassblower of Murano' by Marina Fiorato, after reading that you will probably search for the perfect red heartshaped glass pendant.

There's a glassmuseum and several nice churchess to visit.

Near the Vaporetto stop that will take you to Burano you will find Bar al Faro where you can get a panino and a beer from tap like the locals do, birra rosa is superb!

  • 16. Burano
    Burano

13:30 Totally different than Murano, colourful houses, village-like atmosphere, lovely!

It's a bit of a boat ride to get here, but meanwhile you get to see a lot of the laguna, a terrific nature area, there's nothing like this in the world, almost fantasy-like.
Take lots of pictures, every meter is about as fotogenic.

Via a bridge you can get to the small, more modern island of Mazzorbo, here you can find a winery with restaurant of the Bisol family, please walk on over!

The atmosphere at Burano, where all the lace is made, is like a fisherman's village

  • 22. Al Buso
    Al Buso, Mestre

13:00 Perfect view on Ponte Rialto, nice for Luncheon. You can sit outside or see the fantastic ceiling inside. Taste the Venetian Liver-dish (not for every ones taste I must admit)

After Luncheon take the Vaporetto all the way up to S. Marco. (it might be a part of Canal Grande you haven't done by boat, since we walked almost every inch of the city...)
