    Take a night walk from Parliment, cross the chain bridge and then walk back towards the metro. Enjoy the incredibly beautiful views of the Castle all lit up and glowing, just asking to be photographed.

    Grab some fruit on the first floor and enjoy shopping around at a Hungarian market. Go upstairs and find some soveiners for all your friends and family back home who are totally jealous you are in Buadpest.

    A beautiful way to start your tour of Budapest, see it all from above. You can climb up or take the #27 public bus up to get to the top. See the beauty of this city and the monument at the top.

    Once you've decended Gellert Hill, take a pit stop and drink from the spring fed fountain in front of Gellert Hotel.

  • 5. Heroes' Square (Hosok tere)

    Take in some of Budapest's history as you visit the Heroes of the past. Can be done in under 30 minutes.

  • 6. City Park (Varosliget)

    This park can be walked through quickly after Heroes' Square. Start on the left side of the bridge and continue towards Szechenyi Baths, then cross the street and into the park a bit before you turn back towards Heroes' Square. There are some pretty buildings.

    Don't have to go in, but you can admire the beautiful building from the outside.

  • 8. 2nd Oldest Underground

    The yellow metro line goes back a long way, if you have a bus pass you can use it to take this historic and functional metro. But if you are really cheap you can just pop downstairs to take a look at it and then walk along Andrassy towards the basilica.

    Though technically not a Basilica, this church is huge and worth a look around. The awe inspiring domes are incredible. Then you can climb the steps or take the elevator up to the tower above to see the beautiful sights of the city.
    Cost: Nothing for the church
    400 Forints for admission to the tower

    Tip: don't pay 300 ft. to go in to the treasury, it's not worth it.

    Lots of money to enter this synagogue (1600 ft for adult), so unless you want to splurge and also see the museum and inside of the synagogue, just go around back and view the beautiful outdoor Holocaust Memorial from the gate.
    Cost: 1600 ft, or nothing

    This is a must on your list. Start at the bottom, near the Chain Bridge and walk up the left side and enjoy the views from the top. Once you are at the top walk through the main archway and continue right.

  • 12. Fisherman's Bastion (Halaszbastya)

    Walk along this beautiful area and enjoy the views. You only have to pay if you go up to the second level. Once done here continue down the hill and take the tram over to Margaret Island.

    From here you could spend the rest of your day walking along this island and enjoying the many different things it has to offer.
