Restaurants in Puerto Vallarta

6 May 2006  There are many, many wonderful restaurants in Puerto Vallarta. It is, after all, the culinary capital of Mexico and recognized internationally for its fine cuisine. We've enjoyed visiting many of PV's dining establishments. These are just a few of our favorites.

Great places to eat in Puerto Vallarta.

  • Seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall
  • 1. El Panorama
    http://www.elpanorama.com

Located high above the city, El Panorama delivers magnificent views and 5-Star cuisine. Very romantic to watch the sunset while being serenaded by soft, melodic live music.

  • 2. Si Senor
    http://www.sisenorpv.com/index.htm

Located in El Centro at Guadalupe Sánchez & Josefa O. de Domínguez 274, Si Senor seems far away from the crowds on the Malecon. Quiet, candlelit decor compliments the authentic Mexican cuisine and various seafood delicacies. Service is exceptional.

  • 3. The Blue Shrimp
    http://www.theblueshrimp.com.mx/

If you love shrimp, this is the place to go. Never could you dream of seeing shrimp served in so many ways. Our favorite was the coconut shrimp. Also on the menu: Lobster, Steak and Catch of the Day. Complimentary beverage is served at the end of your meal. Interesting nautical-themed decor.

  • 4. Bogart's
    http://www.sunworx.com/bogarts/

For a truly unique experience, Bogart's provides a Moroccan-themed dinner based on the movie, "Casablanca." Waiters dressed in period costumes serve exquisite gastromic delights as a young woman on the piano enchants patrons with tunes of the era. We almost expected to hear her say, "Play it again, Sam." The ambiance is completed with an old-fashioned fountain in the centre of the restaurant. This would be a great place to "pop the question."

  • 5. Pipis
    http://www.pipis.com.mx/

Lively, loud and entertaining, Pipis is well-known among tourists for its famous fajitas. Guacamole made fresh at your table, mariachi music infiltrates the atmosphere. Get your picture taken wearing a Pipis sombrero. Be prepared to wait for 45 mins - 1 hour if you arrive after 6pm.

  • 6. Le Kliff
    http://www.lekliff.com/eng/

Stunning ocean vistas surround Le Kliff, providing magnificent views as diners relax under a large open-air palapa that spans several levels. Serving various seafood specialites, LeKliff provides above-average service, but fairly average cuisine. Still, it's more than worth at least one trip to soak up the sweeping panoramic seascapes. And if you're getting married, we can't imagine a more romantic location.
