Australia's Top End

30 Oct 2007  Australia is a massive country and there are so many things to see and do. I just want to draw attention to some less common points of interest.

If you are looking for inspiriation, adventure and the way you imagine Australia to be - beaches, red earth, hot sun, scarred cliffs - the Northern Territory's top end is the place to go. Here are some suggestions for your iitinerary while you are here.

  • 1. Kakadu National Park
    Kakadu National Park, Top End

Kakadu is vast and is a great way to get a taste of the diverse and stunning landscapes that Australia has to offer. Jim Jim and Twin Falls, Anbangbang Billibong and Nourlangie Rock are among my favourite sights.

  • 2. Max Davidon's Arnhem Land Safari

A great place to stay and experience what the Top End has to offer.

  • 3. Barramundi Nature Lodge

Get away from it all in style - luxury camping, fishing, wining and dining

  • 4. Bawaka Cultural Experience

Learn about Aboriginal culture on a picture-perfect beach

  • 5. Katherine
    Katherine, Top End

A lovely town with beautiful surrounds including wildlife, natural spas and the famous Katherine Gorge.

  • 6. Katherine Gorge

  • 7. Darwin
    Darwin, Top End

Darwin is a great place to end off a trip to the top end. There is an excellent night life with a very friendly vibe, great dining and a spectacular natural harbour that I have been told is three times that of Syndey's!

  • 8. Mindil Beach Markets
Mindil Beach Markets, Darwin, Top End

From the end of April through October each year, Mindil Beach is a favourite of both locals and tourists. Watch the sunset as you dine and pick up some lovely last minute souvenirs!
