Description of my Victoria visit which was part of a long weekend trip to Vancouver/Victoria - May 2006. We rented a car at YVR airport and headed to Tsawwassen Ferry to Victoria. We checked in our hotel and walked over to the Undersea gardens, the Wax Museum. There is a tourism information bureau right in Inner Harbour. Close to the Empress hotel. We were tempted at first to use one the horse carriage or rickshaw hire but decided to walk around instead. Enjoyed the vendors in the inner harbour area. Walked over to Chinatown. Took the Harbour mini ferry boat to Fischeman's Wharf to Barb's place for fish and chips. Walked back to our hotel for a well deserved rest. The next day headed to Butchart garden and then headed back to Nanaino later that day to reach the Ferry at Departure bay(Nanaimo to N. Vancouver). Great trip. We all enjoyed ourselves.
Fischerman's Wharf is a small but quaint floating street and dock with house boats, docking boats ect. You can get there by Harbour boat ferries from the Inner Harbour.
Favorite fish and chip place in Victoria ( 23 years in business should tell you they are good). Eating outside by the dock, watching boats, people ect. Fresh seafood and fish dishes.. Yummy food.
Aquarium/ underseas viewing
Royal British Musem
Across the street from the Royal British Museum. British flair boutique!
Nice little ferry boats that take you around the Inner harbour areas.
This is where we stayed for one night. Great hotel with breakfast and underground parking. Awesome value within walking distance from the Inner harbour. Has a fine dining restaurant next door- didn't go but smelled delicious and great menu.
Most beautiful garden I ever seen. Allow 2-3 hours min. even if you are not into gardens, min. half a day if you truly enjoy flowers and plants. Great pictures, lots of benches to stop and reflect and enjoy. Restaurant on site.
Took the Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay (Victoria) ferry. Very nice and enjoyable. Nice views, saw some sealion. Several restaurants on board, lots of deck and seating places to play cards, snooze, converse ect.
This was on our list but lacked time to visit it. Close to Butchart gardens. We will go on our next trip.
This is one of the companies that offer tours in the city. There's several.
One of the activities we would have liked to do but lacked time. Next time!
We walked in the hotel to check it out. Very nice. One of the restaurant lounge had a neat decor. Lots of people would go in to have tea, well folks, prepare your wallet!
Picked up the rental car in Airport and drove to Tsawwassen Ferry dock.
