"You can walk around for free or buy a ticket to get into some of the special buildings. Several chinese movies and TV show are shot here. You can spend a whole day just wondering around the streets and snacking"
"I visited this one afternoon and thought I'd be finished in about an hour, but was surprised at how much was inside. It's a two floor museum that has several rooms with different kinds of ceramics and pottery. Most of the displays are also accompanied by a decent English description and history. My ..."personal favorites were the pieces that had scenes hand carved into them by people using a magnifying glass. They looked impossibly intricate and apparently took years to make.
It's free to visit if you bring your passport or Chinese ID card, otherwise my ticket shows it costs 40rmb. I think you could easily haggle with them if you forget it though as one of my friend forgot her ID card and it wasn't a problem.

The key historical sites such as the wall, rock formations and buildings are in good condition. There is a recent multi-story pagoda style building on the peak that is now locked up and vacated. The grass skiing fields are still operating but I may have been the only person to use them on the day. The dinosaur park is great and contains life size active robots, some of which looked new and others that looked a bit worn. ...
