Our tours are friendly, informative and fun. With no more than 12 people on board, you will see Waitomo's fabulous glowworms at their very best. We visit private caves away from the regular, more commercial tours. Our caves are on a beautiful hill country farm and your guide is also your host, so expect a really enjoyable and memorable tour of our two magical caves.

Abseil/Rappel 100m followed by a dry caving adventure as you explore this magnificent cave system. Surprisingly gentle - freehanging in a massive void... bouncing a bit because of the sheer length of the rope. The roar of the Mangapu river echoes up from caverns far below. Climb back over slabs of rock and ladders. Excellent glowworms. Min age 10 yrs. No experience required. Operator has over 24 years of safe operation and is Qualmark Endorsed.

"My wife and I visited NZ for our honeymoon 40 years ago and we remember visiting the Caves then. The main entrance is new but the caves entrance and the marvelous cave formations remain the glorious same. The glow worms area seems smaller somehow, but that could be just memory. The cave tour and ..."the boat ride are well worth the money. The guide was very knowledgeable although some of the (foreign) tourists need to respect other people's enjoyment and pay attention to the guide's instructions.

"Not slick but an informative authentic experience with two fascinating caves, some wonderful old bones, and lots of time with about a million glow worms in a silent, peaceful setting. Small group, and lots of background stories and explanations. I had a really technical question, and got it answered..." with the key scientific publication (in the van). Good to have a cave enthusiast (rather than a tourism enthusiast) as our guide.

"To be honest, I initially chose this trip instead of the normal canoe through the caves because someone implied I wasn't adventurous and I rose to the occasion. But I am SO GLAD that I did.
This is the best tour I have ever been on.
I'm not very sure footed at times but the guides (Simon and I t..."hink it was Alannah or Nicole?) were amazing. They guided me down certain parts, told me where I should take my next step and never hurried me. I felt very safe at all times.
The adventure itself was amazing. Jumping backwards off two waterfalls (about 1-1.5m jump) was fantastic. The other aspects of the tour included tubing through the caves, hiking underground, optional crawling through areas. Our tour guides took lots of photos (its well worth purchasing) that turned out great and gave us plenty of fun activities during our time down there.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
