Current exhibitions include New World Cuisine: The Histories of Chocolate, Mate y Mas, explores cultural blending through food. Colonial pieces from the collection and loan are displayed in context of a New Mexican, Mexican and Spanish kitchens, complemented by sections on wine, chocolate and the South American Yerba Mate tradition. Gallery activities include short films, a scent station, world map with food magnets, and a recipe exchange. Special menu selections at Museum Hill Cafe, and related foods and books at the Gift Shop.New exhibitions include Plain Geometry Amish Quilts, exploring Amish quilt patterns, make your own quilt on an Ipad and save to share on the rotating display. This exhibition closes September 2, 2013. Taki Kichi/Kite crazy in Japan opens June 9, 2013. International Folk Arts week and the Santa Fe International Folk Art Market take place in mid July and a new exhibition of Brazilian folk art is scheduled for November.More than 120,000 objects are on display in the long term exhibition by architect and designer Alexander Girard. This international folk art collection includes miniature buildings, streets and village scenes from more than 100 different countries.
