Michael was detailed and enthusiastic; he knew the history backward and forward, was engaging. If history is not your thing; there was plenty of beautiful scenery in the backwater to keep you enthralled. Saw bald eagles and their nests; a few practically flew over the boat. From what the crew told me they see many types of birds on the water. Speaking of the crew; they were equally enthusiastic, courteous, and knew the river. If you're in the Prairie du Chien area this cruise down the Mississippi is a must see, you'll enjoy this trip. " More >

  "We took the Mississippi Explorer out of Prairie du Chien last evening on the dusk wildlife cruise. Captain Annie & her first mate (so sorry I didn't get her name) were awesome. They told stories & related many facts about the river. They pointed out eagles & nests with baby eagles, herons, turtles...", etc. About halfway through the trip Captain Annie turned off the engines & just let us all listen to the sounds of the birds & the great Mississippi. I was also impressed that they kept blankets on board; yes it got chilly! The crew made sure we were all comfortable. We docked at twilight. Really delightful! Reasonably priced. " More >

  "I really enjoyed the tour. It was a little too warm inside the building and a bit dark. There was some apple pressing going on outside which we enjoyed. The staff seemed very pleasant and knowledgeable. It was peaceful. Like going back in time."
