Tourist love us because we are always family friendly. We are popular with both locals and tourists because the history rich location features 2 floors of locally made items. We are a Craft Related Site on the Artisan Trail of Virginia so when you stop by we might have demonstrations, music or even someone explaining the history of our historic old building. We are located in an 1820 Brick Federal building that features fine art, fine crafts, live music events, book signings from more than 60 very talented people jewelers, potters, wood turners, metal artists, and fabric artists. Find your unique work of art by Virginia artists here--for your beautiful home, office spaces and even gift giving occasions. We are a very laid back bunch who want to make you feel right at home. We are located at the West End of the Strasburg Arts and Tourism District which means you have access to more things you can hear, touch, smell, taste and purchase that are grown and made by Shenandoah Valley folks.Proprietor, Marcy McCann and Shenandoah Valley Artworks are proud to be an Affiliate Member of the Artisans Center of Virginia--and to support Virginia arts, tourism and cultural events.Proprietor: Marcy McCannCreative Director: Linda L. This public venue showcases work by artists from throughout the Shenandoah Valley with a focus on folks within a 30 mile radius. The art is changed on the first business day of the month and in itself has become something of an event for people to see. The bios of the artists are posted in the lobby and each artist is on hand to meet the public at an evening reception on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. The work is for sale and can be purchased out right or put on lay-a-way at Shenandoah Valley Artworks. Shenandoah Showcase is an ongoing partnership between the Town of Strasburg and Shenandoah Valley Artworks. Each month the work of an artist or group of artists is shown throughout the ground floor hallways during normal business hours.

The museum features numerous archaeological artifacts and a 45 minute film on the battle in our theatre. The Battle of Cedar Creek was the largest battle fought in the Shenandoah Valley.Outside, our grounds have a 1/2 mile loop nature/ history trail that highlights remains of Civil War fortifications, fantasic views of the surrounding landscape, and the unique geology of the region. We also have picnic facilities for those who want to take a break from traveling.Hupp's Hill is also the home of the Gateway to Shenandoah Visitor Center, your information source for travel in Shenandoah County, the Shenandoah Valley, and the state of Virginia.Hupp's Hill is jointly operated by the Cedar Creek Battlefield Foundation and the Town of Strasburg.

"The town's chamber puts on this event and wraps alot into two and a half days. The carnival is sponsored by another organization, but a staple during the event. You've got street concerts, a parade, arts and craft vendors, a duck race, and more. There is always a great selection of food and you c..."an count on the third weekend in May for this event.

"...and that's saying a lot in a Town like Strasburg! Mayberry wouldn't do this town justice. A smile on every corner, a kind hello from people walking by, fellow patrons at local restaurants welcoming a conversation all make Strasburg a wonderful place! Marcy, the owner at Shenandoah Valley Artworks..." is the icing on the cake. I drove from the DC metro area in search of a specific artist. The gallery didn't have the artist I was looking for, but Marcy went out of her way to help me find a gallery that would have it. While I was waiting for her as she called around I couldn't help but to notice the AMAZING local art she has displayed. Before I left to go to the gallery that had what I was searching for, Marcy asked me to be sure and come back and check out her upstairs gallery. As I arrived back a while later, Marcy personally showed me her upstairs gallery which just so happens to also be her home! It's filled with gorgeous pieces from traditional to contemporary. Anyone who appreciates ...

"Shenandoah Valley Artworks complements the "antiquey" reputation of Strasburg VA with a diversity of contemporary art as well as some of the best of local music, writing and crafts. Art ranges from the almost monumental large works in the front gallery to more intimate nature pieces upstairs.
Sh..."enandoah Valley Artworks is very connected in to what is happening in Strasburg and nearby, and plans to be more so. Along with Cristina's, the excellent coffeehouse, eatery and performance space across the street, SVA makes the "west end" of Strasburg as important to visit as the antique stores in the middle of town, and maybe just a little bit hipper.
