I visited this place by chance and would highly recommend stopping by. Absolutely amazing to see how much work he has put into his home which is still being expanded with more tunnels going further into the mountains. He says he has been working on the house for over 40 years and is not done yet! He does not charge for guided tours but has a fountain where you can leave a donation if desired.

We found this beach not far from where we stayed. It's not very big so don't know how it would be if it got very crowded. When we went twice it was fine. There are sunbeds as usual @ €24 for 2 with umbrella but we didn't get them as we were only there for a couple of hours each time. The public part is small but manageable. Definitely take an umbrella with you here as there is little shade. Water is warm with grainy sand. Waves can be strong and it gets deep quickly so not ideal for young children but saying that our 5 year old loved it as long as he had a float and of course a parent stayed with him in the water. There is a small drinks bar here also. There are steep steps down to the beach but worth it .

Path 505 is, without question, one of the best footpaths I have ever followed. I started at the summit of Mt Epomeo and basically walked straight to the sea. Pizzi Bianchi jumps out at you after walking through a deep cutting. It is stunningly beautiful and I cannot recommend you visit this more strongly.

However, this is a difficult path - wear robust shoes and take poles if possible. The path is mostly 10-15% gradient and, extremely poor footing where it cuts through the crumbly, local stone. If approaching from the south, a 200m section of path has guide ropes. The northern approach is easier, but much longer

We stayed for a week at Miramare Sea Resort and Spa. Guests here receive free entrance to the nearby Giardini Termali Aphrodite Apollon. I went daily because there is no pool on the hotel grounds nor beach as the structure is built into cliffs. Aphrodite Apollon, however, offers both thermal pools and a nice beach. The immaculate pools proved to be most refreshing and uncrowded in May. There were plenty of lounge chairs to enjoy on a terrace that overlooks the sea. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and well maintained, and we enjoyed lunch at its open-air cafe which features a terrific water view. All the staff I interacted with were pleasant and helpful.

Aphrodite Apollon stands about a 10-minute walk (hills involved) from Miramare and I mostly strolled between the two places. But there is a free electric cart service. I took the cart once and had fun riding in it. The water taxi from town stops at the beach below Aphrodite Apollon and it is about a 30-second walk to the entrance.

You go up from Sant Angelo with a tiny road , from San Michele hotel, where you find the church, and after 40 mins of quite tough and all-up slope you got there at Serrara Fontana.
The hike is very enjoyable, fantastic views down and you get immersed in the landscape and the old time Ischia. I loved it. At the top you get your extra reward , turn the corner and you find a bar with an amazing view on the bay . Spremuta al limone highly recommended!

Recently spent three days camped out on the first row of beach beds. Beware they charge an additional premium for the first row. The beach is clean and well maintained. You are a little hemmed in but the whole beach area is not that large with many people so they have to cram you in.

Great guy who showed us the island by road and stopped at a number of scenic locations. Giovanni was well informed about the history of Ischia, always very helpful in assisting us, with great tips on eating places. Would recommend him without any hesitation, and also well priced.
