"This is the plantation to visit due to it's absolute uniqueness.
It is educational and memorable.
The parking is very easy--park and walk a short distance. One thing missing--food! Don't go hungry. There's all you can drink cold and hot tea which made me kind of more hungry. I bought a few gift i..."tems and included a tiny almond crunch bar which was very delicious.Maybe someday they will add a cafe--there certainly is enough room. You can see a lot in a couple of hours and the drive is fun. It's so out of the way; feels special, and it is.
I noticed the gift shop ladies were annoyed by just a couple of phone calls, but they were fine otherwise.

"Are we there yet! It seems like its going to be a long drive and then you're there. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our vist. The trolley driver keeps you informed and entertained as you travel the rutted road through the plantation. Not too long and not too short. Our driver, sans, tour guide answ..."ered all our questions about tea. No surprise that the trolley ride finishes at the gift shop, but there are a variety of tea and non-tea gifts. We bought a variety of teas and a beautiful tea set. As noted, there is no food available, but plenty of iced tea is available. Be prepared to relax and have a enjoyable time.

"If you get the chance to visit the only tea plantation in America you should. The setting is absolutely perfect. The trolley tour is a must to learn exactly how the tea is grown and cut. Plenty of places to park if you drive, and easy to find. There is no restaurant or food so be sure to eat before ..."you go. There is tea tasting and there is hot tea and cold. The factory tour was very informational. Be sure to check out the large oak tree that has a Resurrection fern growing on it just by the main building. The fern only comes out when it rains and then dries up and dies. When it rains it returns. Facinating tour and will go again the next time in Charleston.
