"This tree/park is located just outside of Charleston and is probably a 30 minute drive. The sheer size and reach of this tree is awe inspiring. If you can remember how big trees seemed to you back when you were just a kid, this has that effect on you as an adult. While not as tall as the redwoods ou..."t west, it bounces and sprawls out over a huge area. Worth a stop/visit.

"My husband, daughter (13), son (12) and I went to see the Angel Oak yesterday. It's about 30 minutes from downtown Charleston and is well worth the drive. It is a very peaceful and relaxing place. The size of the tree is unbelievable. I am glad to see that the tree has survived for so long!"
