"My friend and I went to see the amazing band Ultrasound at the Trades Club on a Saturday night in Hebden Bridge. This is very much a trades club, it has the vibe of a workingman's club but it's cool and friendly and I can see why big names such as Patti Smith and Buzzcocks would choose to play here...", it is probably a very comfortable and welcoming experience for them. My friend and I were able to have a couple of drinks after the gig and spend some time chatting with the band, many venues want you out as soon as the gig is over but this place is relaxed and the staff are nice. I sometimes go to gigs on my own if none of my friends like the band I want to see and I would feel quite comfortable here on my own. The other advantage of seeing a band here is that you can stay in gorgeous Hebden Bridge, book yourself in somewhere for a couple of nights and explore this beautiful town.

"This is one of the most beautiful towns I have ever visited. There isn't much here, just a tea room, pub and post office. I went there to visit Sylvia Plath's grave - if you want to do this then do get precise directions to the grave because there are two graveyards and my friend and I spent ages ..."searching for it. The vibe of the town is so peaceful and serene, I can't wait to go back and take Sylvia some flowers next time.

"Best approached via a steep walk from Hebden Bridge - cross the old River then up "the Buttress" (no jokes please) on the road for a bit then up the footpath and into the village. The old part of the town is quaint and picturesque. Wide ranging views across the Calder Valley and a tea shop and pubs...."
Many people go to visit Sylvia Plath's grave. It is not marked or signposted - but it is in the overflow part of the graveyard across Church Lane to the side of the new Church. It can take a little while to find the grave - but if you look - the path to it is quite well worn and lots of people have the habit of leaving small stones on top of the headstone.
