Oregon's oldest estate winery and European Distillery. Our family invites you to experience our new world wines made using old world traditions. All of our artisan wines are crafted using grapes from dry farmed, old vine, hillside vineyards. This follows into the cellar where we use extended barrel ageing and fermentation of our reds in patented concrete fermentors. Oregon's most natural and traditionally made wines. Starting 2011 we will be introducing our French inspired fruit Eaux de Vies from Cherries, Apricot, Pear and wine grapes. FROMMERS- Best wines in Southern Oregon. Not sold in stores. Mention this ad for complementary tasting. Tasting Daily 11-5 March-Dec To the Genie in the bottle!

"I was able to visit this winery with a good friend of mine who happens to be one of their wine club members. It is off the beaten path but very worth the effort to visit.
Being a person that favors red wine, I decided to focus on tasting the reds. As I progressed through the tastings, I found mys..."elf marking positive points on ALL the wines presented. From the very reasonably priced "Red Table Wine" all the way up to their "2006 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon". I ended up choosing a bottle of their 2008 Reserve Merlot to take home and share with my wife. A very rich Merlot with a black cherry, dark cocoa and a bit of a spicy finish with a hint of vanilla. MMMMMM! :-)
I was able to meet Pat and Loree Spangler and found them to be VERY passionate about making wine and sharing it with others. Pat invited my friend and I back behind the scenes and let us barrel taste a few of their new wines they are working on. It was a joy seeing Pat's eyes sparkle as he explained what was happening at d...

"That's what a friend calls Abacela and she is 100% correct. Simply a beautiful vineyard with spectacular views combined with a dizzying assortment of wines that are all a pleasure to taste. The tasting room is a bit "cold" (what is it with tasting rooms and massive granite counter tops?), but the st..."aff was friendly and helpful. Compare the estate tempranillo with their "regular" tempranillo and get an instant education on the nuances of wine. Oh, they're also doing wood-fired pizzas on certain nights, so pick an evening and sip world-class tempranillo, munch on pizza hot out of the oven, and watch the sun descend over the rolling hills of Tuscany, er, Roseburg.

"The winery and tasting room is beautiful! Our host, Quentin, was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. My husband and I enjoyed the tastings and walked out with some lovely wines. Next time we visit, we will pack a picnic, purchase some wonderful wine and enjoy the ambiance!"
