"The setting is beautiful with easy beach access. The camp sites are private and the rest rooms clean. The Redwoods are an easy day trip away. This is as nice as it gets. "
"Being a very scenic piece of beach this is a great place to spend the day. Full and clean bathrooms and easy cement pathway down to the sand it is always a treat to be there. Always a place to spread a blanket or fly a kite. Just one of the best beach access areas on the Oregon Coast. Oh and it i..."s free!

"We love the coast but camping there can be a chilly, windy experience. We stayed at Alfred Loeb State park just 9 miles inland from Brookings, OR along the Chetco River.
temperatures in Brookings were in the 60's and at the park it was 15 degrees warmer....we loved that! We stayed in one of the th..."ree cabins right on the river. The river can be reached just by climbing down the bank and across a wide rocky beach. The river is shallow and slow moving but I have read there are faster and deeper areas great for swimming. Since we had little ones having a wading area was perfect. There are shower and bathroom facilities....the restrooms themselves are rather small but then again, you are camping just enjoy your surroundings and don't let the little things annoy you. Camp hosts were friendly and the grounds clean. Lots of squirrels, robins, and blue jays. The birds wake up EARLY!!!! =) Owls heard every night and the starry nights unforgettable. Highly recommend!!!!!
