The Heritage Village Museum is Cincinnati's largest living history museum and quite a gem. All of the buildings and outbuildings were moved from elsewhere in Southwest, Ohio (most...

"I am from a city where parks are a big deal, and we do them well (thanks Mr. Olmstead), so when I saw Sharon Woods, I knew this was a gem.
This park has everything you could ever want--water, trails, playground, history. It's the perfect park. There is plenty of grass, land and trees for everyone...". The trails were accessible and seemed to be used by many. The lake offers fishing and boating. There are great playgrounds, and no shortage of things to do for the young, or the young-at-heart.
So grab your friends or family (or go solo), and head to Sharon Woods for a peaceful place to meditate, a safe place to run, or a fun place to let your little one use up their energy!
Note: There was a fee for entry ($3), but it was definitely worth it. I believe you can purchase an annual pass for $10, so keep that in mind if you plan to return to the area.

"This 18 hole course is one of the more challenging courses in the Hamilton County system. The terrain, woods and greens are all a challenge. This year is their 75th anniversary and a lot of work to improve the fairways and greens. You will find the staff very friendly, and the course play is open to..." all skill levels. Get there early in the busy golf season, or later afternoon for just 9 holes.

it is a natural site for getting up close to what type of animal, mammal, bug, fresh water aquatic life not to mention plant life lived in this area during prehistoric..." times.
the site is a slice form, in a rocky hillside, of prehistoric vertebrae and non-vertebrae, well marked with discreet signage indicating the era of every level in the hillside.
there are picnic tables but no water source (there may be a source since I visited last)..
I recommend - for any age:
+ visiting early in the a.m. because there isn't any shade (unless you venture to the top to the hill where there are trees) so it gets really hot!
+ Do wear climbing or good hiking shoes because wet or dry the big rocks can be slippery.
+ Bring band aids and antiseptic cleanser for wounds - which will happen (but it's all worth a scrape or cut.)
+ Bri...
