Sitting in the old cobbled yard under the big copper beech, taking five minutes, and watching the swallows - whilst devouring a Snugburys Ice Cream is one of life's great pleasures. I guess that is why thousands of people come time after time to get their fix as they say :)Here at Snugburys we are not only famous for our ice cream, we also attract tens of thousands of visitors every summer to come and admire our huge straw sculptures. These impressive creations stand tall in our field along side the A51. Previous creations have included a 36 ft Meerkat and a working model of London’s Big Ben!

Discover the secret world of nuclear government. For over 50 years this vast underground complex, remained secret, hidden on the outskirts of a sleepy Cheshire town. Declassified in 1993, the 35,000 sq ft underground bunker would have been the centre of Regional Government had nuclear war broken out. The bunker today offers a warm welcome to anyone looking for a totally different day out.

"Nice deli shop with interesting products such as Camp Coffee. Lots of meats and cheeses. All looks fresh. Quaint coffee shop right at the back in an olde world setting and a food/shop museum. Coffee was freshly ground and reasonably priced. Fresh look cakes in an open counter looked delitious but we..."re not covered with a dome or other protection. Not sure on the hygiene implications there as people were ordering over this counter and speaking over the food. Some of the food was covered with cling film but the Cheesecakes and Manchester tarts etc were not. Sandwiches seemed freshly made. Will go back but won't have Cheesecake!

"The cold war era fascinates me and potential nuclear armageddon scares the life out of me so what better place to stay the day?. Me and my husband had a thoroughly wonderful day here last year. What we believed to be a visit that would take two hours max turned into a visit that took all day. There ..."is so much to see and so much history. I presumed it would be full of anti Russian propaganda and was pleased to see it was unbiased and stuck to facts. The gift shop is amazing and the tea shop produced nice fresh sandwiches. I thought I was a bit of an expert but the new and informative information really educated me without being boring.
