"This is the second time I've played River's Edge and it's fantastic. Green's are Paspalum grass (same as those on Kiawah Island were the US Open was played in 2012) and run very true. We played here last September and just this past March. I would wait until later in the season to experience the ..."greens since Paspalum goes dormant during the winter.
The last few holes on the front 9 and the closing 3 holes on the back nine border the estuary and the scenery is outstanding.
No GPS on the carts (the only downside) but be sure to bring one since you will need it to figure out where to hit it too.
No cart girl in March and no drinking water on the course so come prepared.

"An amazing layout, particularly numbers 8,9 and 16 -18 which border the marsh. Number 9 may be the hardest hole I have ever played, certainly the hardest par 5. 17 and 18 similarly border the marsh but with the prevailing wind behind the golfer play easier. Shot my worst round in years yet loved ..."every minute of it. We played 5 top Myrtle courses on our recent trip and none came close to River's Edge. I really look forward to playing this course again.

"Played in late March. The course was amazing, greens running true and fast. Fairways could have been a little longer but grass was just starting to grow out due to cold weather. Staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome and at home. Would recommend this course to anyone. The play was a bi..."t slow but it was still a lot of fun and would definitely return again when in the area. Guys behind us were playing best ball and group in front of us was a little slow, guys behind were waiting a lot and complaining a lot, but what do you expect when you are playing Bestball when everyone else on the course is playing their own ball on a tough golf course. This course is challenging, fun and a treat to play, managed to actually keep the same ball till the15th hole, many people say to bring lots of balls with you but I didn't find that to be a problem.
