"The fact that we could ride in an elevator to the top was a great selling point. My friend and I both have a difficult time doing stairs. If you want to go to the lookout, but you will need to climb some stairs after your elevator ride. The views are beautiful. We were a little disappointed because ..."we wanted to take the trails to the falls, but they had been closed due to rock slides. The Park does give you a discount on admission because of the closures. We had a great time going down the stairs and taking photos of us pretending to make this climb. This was a fun attraction.

"We went to Chimney Rock with family it has great scenery. The drive up to the parking lot is twisty and slow, so watch ahead for oncoming traffic. We got lucky and had a beautiful day. One of the attractions at the park is Hickory Nut Falls, which unfortunately is closed for repairs - the ticket pri..."ce has been reduced a bit because of this. There is an elevator to take you up almost to the top of the rock... you have about 30 steps to the actual look out area... I loved that the rock was all natural with the exposed edges not cemented over to make it level. If you are scared of heights.. suck it up and go up.. it is worth it!!
