The Maker's Mark tour is led by a tour guide who educates guests about the basic distilling process. ..." Entering the room with giant wooden vats filled with bubbling fermenting mash can be intense due to the yeasty smells and heat from the fermentation process. We were encouraged to ask questions and to taste mash at various stages of fermentation. (Yes, it's OK from a health standpoint.) The grounds were beautifully manicured with a lovely stream (Whiskey Creek) flowing through the campus. Maker's Mark felt more like a college campus with mature trees and plantings.
