The Miller House showcases the work of leading 20th-century architects and designers Eero Saarinen, Alexander Girard, and Dan Kiley. In 2000, the Miller House became a National Historic Landmark. The home, completed in 1957,was described in the Wall Street Journal as "...not only a landmark of modern architecture but also a fine example, possibly the finest, of a kind of modernist design with which too few are familiar, one that is warm, livable and majestic as it flows together with the landscape." Guided tours, with only 13 guests per tour, are offered 11 times a week from March through November.

"Hard to believe that this church is 60 years old! It was the first "modern" church built in the United States - designed by Eliel Saarinen. Worth a visit; it is across the street from the Visitor's Center."
"This house & garden tour was a highlight of our trip to Columbus! The house & garden are an amazing example of modern architecture. Tours are booked through the Visitors Center ($20/adult); I recommend booking in advance online as tour size is limited to 13 and there are only a few tours each week...". Not suitable for young children.
The visitors center has an introductury film (very good) and a terrific gift shop of artisan made goods. Also, a fantastic Chihuly chandelier.
Accessibility: reasonable; a bus with a lift takes you to the house; no stairs in house.

"Fans of modern architecture will enjoy this tour. Approx 2 hours long (it probably could be even longer but 2 hours is a reasonable compromise given the amount of the city that is covered and the attention span of most tourists). Only 2 buildings (churches) were toured on foot; the rest is on the ..."bus. Reservations are recommended. You should arrive approx 30 minutes before your tour & there is a very good video shown before the tour which provides the historical background on how Columbus got to have so much great architecture.
Downtown Columbus is very walkable and there are many restaurants within an easy stroll of the visitors center. Free parking next to the visitors center.
The Cummins headquarters is open (at least it was on a Friday); there are three historic cars on display there - including one Indy winner with a Cummins engine.
Accessibility: some walking involved; bus probably has lifts (but I would call to verify this).
