"I am not a museum person, but we went here as part of an event. I have to say, it was pretty interesting. They had lots of interactive question stations, which entertained my teen (who is into history). It went through time with Florida history, lots of different things to look at. We went to the gi..."ft shop and my only complaint was we wanted something with the museum name on it (other than a simple pencil) and it was more of trinket type things.

"We have been to many car museums from Tacoma to Simi Valley CA and this is on my top 3 list. So many varieties of collection. I understand why they give you a wrist band so we could leave for lunch and hurry back to see more. Also Mr. D the chief collection Mechanic was a delight!"
"We live close to Alfred B. Maclay Gardens and often picnic at the lake. So when our friend Sherry came to visit from North Carolina, we decided to take her there. We knew that she loved to see formal and historic gardens, so our local jewel was a must see. The weather cooperated with cool and sun..."ny weather with light breezes. A very helpful docent at the ticket office gave us tips about what was in bloom this late in the season. We wandered along the paths beside the lake and toured the house. Again we were impressed with the helpfulness of the volunteers and staff. We asked the name of an interesting house plant, the ranger disappeared and returned with the information. Although it was past prime bloom season, the gardens and pools were beautiful, and we spent a wonderful morning.
