  "We have travelled through Pueblo many times and always thought of it as old industrial. Not anymore. We took the time to venture about four blocks into town. The welcome center told us about the river walk. You can stroll along the banks and enjoy the peaceful waterfalls, ducks playing in the water ..."and children playing in the fountain. It was clean and quiet and a short walk. Several walking bridges can take you to the opposite side of the banks. There are a few shops, restaurants and green areas and a veterans memorial.   "Pueblo Zoo is nice for a city the size of Pueblo. There is a large varety of animals and programs the keepers do. They are working on a new Black Rhino exhibit. The penguin feeding was cool to see. The Eco Center was great. This is a great place to spend a few hours."

  "We stopped here on our way through Colorado to let the kids run around. We had a really great time and it was a refreshing change from the massive big city zoo outings that we are used to. Our girls ran from exhibit to exhibit and especially liked the monkeys in one of the buildings, where a monke..."y interacted with them quite a bit and even jumped onto the glass. There is also a little science area where the kids looked in microscopes, saw different animal skulls, and played veterinarian in a play house. We beat the crowds and were mostly by ourselves at each exhibit, but by the time we left it was getting more crowded. Would definitely recommend for a stop and will visit again next time we travel through. " More >
