What travellers are saying
- KiararamirezCalifornia207 contributionsThis was probably my favorite place in Fort Bragg. They have a huge variety of flowers and plants, sheds and green houses that look like cute cabins, rose garden, cacti and at the end, there's the ocean! They also have a nice gift shop and you can buy plants if you want. I loved this place and can't wait to go backWritten 20 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jola OLas Vegas, NV542 contributionsThe only reason we came to this park is to see the size of the gray whale. There is a skeleton the you can touch and step inside to get a real feel for the enormous size of the gray whale. I loved it. Had no idea it was as large as it is. So fun!Written 7 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Tom SCarson City, NV1 contributionFt. Bragg is a wonderful community. This was our second trip there and I couldn't think of a better spot to spend Thanksgiving. We took our parakeet for a Thanksgiving morning bike ride along the coast trail. Beautiful.Written 6 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Rose MUkiah, CA1 contributionI'm a local, so I'm a little ashamed to say the first time I came in was only a few years ago, now I try and go fairly regularly. It's a little south of town on HWY 1, not next to other stores... but if you have the time, maybe after or before visiting the botanical gardens, it is so worth the stop!
Ananse Village has beautifully curated, fair-trade goods from around the world! They have home goods; indoor and outdoor decor, dinnerware, table linen, cooking utensils, baskets, accent furniture, rugs, and books. They also have a small selection of beautiful clothing (some vintage), a large collection of beautiful jewelry and handbags. There are also beads.
All of the items are gorgeous. If you wanted to see everything you could spend at least an hour. I have purchased many items from here, the prices were fair and the people working there are helpful and knowledgable. I have also exchanged items (tags on, in excellent condition, with receipt,) my husband has picked for me with no trouble at all. FYI, Tangents in Mendocino (also an awesome place) has the same owner.Written 5 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Filled with different model train scenes, all built and put together love and care. Every detail attended too. It is a hidden gem, and is fabulous. Big kids and kids alike will love to watch the trains, talk to the modelers, and admire every detail and scene.
We loved watching the trains. A definite place to go while waiting for your ride on the skunk train, after purchasing tickets, or have a bit of time to spare. Parking is easy in the skunk train parking lot, and the museum operates on donations only.Written 14 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. LEAVE THE GLASS THERE!! We were there in Nov. 2021.Written 19 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mary M27 contributionsWe have been visiting the Pacific Star Winery for 9 years now and always look forward to the next visit🌅 My wife took this photo recently of Dads bench ❤️ imagine seeing waves like this one breaking all around you. Your senses are on full alert and the beauty is hypnotizing 🌊 Sally makes us feel like part of her family and the staff is awesome. - Leonard CChico, CA35 contributionsWe Will Be Back !! Too much to enjoy in 3-4 days. We visited and walked the trails on Glass Beach by the Northern Entrance to The Southern Entrance by Cypress St. We stayed at the Sea Bird Motel located across CA-1 from the Southern Entrance. My wife enjoyed collecting Glass from the shallow waters in the coves between the two entrances. We visited the Fort Bragg Museums to see the History of Ft Bragg. The Beaches are Free, (No Admission), Only expenses are food & lodging in the area. The only way down to some of these coves can be steep: I'm 80 and next time I'll bring a "Walking Stick or Staff" to help me with my balance over the rocks.
Since my wife is an artist, (oil painting), she was very interest in all of the views of the Pacific Shoreline. Additionally, we drove to Mendocino to view the Mendocino Art Gallery and find out more about the Sept 2023 Mendocino Open Air Paint Out, (MOPO); A Plein Air Art Festival where artists come from all over to paint pictures of the Pacific Coast from Ft Bragg southward to Mendocino, including the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse.area. This was an exploratory trip for us looking for scenic places for oil painting...it worked well. I think the only way I'd get in the Ocean around there is with full SCUBA gear: However, the rocks are a hazard.Written 17 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I have wanted to get a new tattoo, and it was fantastic! Nicola did the work, and she did a great job, good price, clean and just a great time. Even if you don't want a tattoo, go for the stories, and art work.. thanks again! Be seeing you!

Truly beautiful! It is a fairly small area, and can be enjoyed in about 45 minutes.Written 18 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - bgavinOrangevale, CA27 contributionsThere is parking here, and a slog through deep sand to reach the beach. This is one of the very few access points where you don't have to be a goat or teenage to reach the beach. Sand reminds me of San Diego beaches. This is a popular destination, but not at all crowded. I was surprised at how little tourists were around in the week we spent here.Written 30 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - db7477Carlsbad, CA2,502 contributionsWe made a quick introductory stop to North Coast Brewing to sample a flight of their craft beers. There was about a 15 minute wait to enter and we asked to sit outside under their COVID-19 tent.
I was a “newbie”. I selected four: Scrimshaw Pilsner, Red Seal Ale, Old Stock Ale and Old Rasputin Stout. The Red Seal Ale was very good but the Old Rasputin was absolutely marvelous! The garlic fries are a good munchie option.Written 20 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
