"What a fabulous experience! So serene and picturesque. Our pilot was very capable and made us feel quite safe. We had an exciting landing at the Solage Resort but never felt in danger. I highly recommend this experience; it is the best of Napa!"
"Our group of four were visiting San Fran for 5 days, and one had a family member that lives not far from Napa - so they offered to take us into Napa and tour a few wineries. This was the first stop. What an incredible environment. We had a perfect sunny day, the views of the hills was great, and the..." castle walls made it a very european feeling setting. We decided to wander around on our own as our local friends had been here before and knew what was going on (i prefer to wander around without guides anyway). We did pay for the wine tasting, and that was fun. Our tasting expert was fun, friendly and helpful. We went through the entire list of wines, were told when to pair chocolates with what wines (pay the extra few dollars for that). When all done we bought our wines to take with us, then wandered out the door and around the grounds. Lots of animals (sheep, ducks, goats) to pet. All in all a perfect start to a great day. We hit a few other vineyards, but this was my favorite and made ...

"Historic vineyard in Calistoga. We have visited this place many times and are wine club members. The tasting room can be crowded and the people who work here are variable, so the best "tip" I have is mill around the place, there is plenty to look at with the Bottle Shock movie and Paris Wine Tasti..."ng of 1976 (also known as the Judgment of Paris) paraphernalia in the place. Depending on what rooms they have open you can spend some time, watching who is the animated and engaging staff and line up with that person, because wine tasting is very emotional and the right experience definitely shades your palate. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and they allow wine club members to reserve these nice picnic tables on the little pond on the grounds.
