Wonderful historical place and very well prepared guides with high ethical values, with a lot of respect to the local history. Most of them are from local communities. We were with Ines, an antropologist and the person responsable for university space. They way she told us how they usually do it for the tourists, was very inspiring. With a space for reflection. If you have a chance to go their with local guides who made a course in the university their, you ll also enjoy it and appreciate indigenous history of Argentina.. or no, nor Argentina, of Collasuyu, the province of Inca Emperium, the culture of Andes.

This lovely short trekking leads you to Garganta del Diablo.
A nice waterfall at the end of a nice path full of colours and tiny stream.
Cactus and blue sky were my guides.
In January in this part of Jujuy you will be able to be in T shirt and put a sweatshirt by night.
Is a really easy and nice trekking to do.
It will take you half and hour/ 45 minutes if you make it fast.

We were on a tour from Purmamarca to Humahuaca and then to Salta. This day we covered a lot of ground and felt it was a rushed trip as there was so much to see and do. We stopped briefly at the Painter’s Palette to take photos but would have liked to stay longer and see the varying colours during the day. The mountains were still very spectacular.

I would recommend an overnight stay in Humahuaca to have time to explore.

It is not easy to organize this tour as we had to go to the tourist office first to get the phone number of the guide and book the tour directly with him. Then when we showed up at 15:00 hrs for our tour the guide wasn't around and we had to wait some time but when we finally went to the caves it was truly beautiful. We were the only ones taking the tour at that time so it was a private one and our guide Jorge was really friendly and he took the time to explain us everything in detail in half Spanish half English. The hike towards the caves was very beautiful and you make a few stops along the way to watch the scenery. We reached the first cave after aprox. 1.5 hour and the second one was 5 min away from there. Especially the 2nd cave was a great experience as the view from the other side of the cave is spectacular! During the whole tour we only saw around 10 other tourists so it is very exclusive and a good experience. We for sure recommend this excursion!

This is an outstanding space and museum. It is thoughtfully designed to deliver an inspirational experience. The collection will inspire in spiritual ways. Just nothing like in the region.

We tried to get there. Couldn't find it nor anyone giving us accurate information. No signs. Someone pointed us to two sisters that were serving as guides. When we managed to find them, they told us that Mrs Elvira, the supposed contact for going to the ruins, had prohibited them from guiding people there, that she would let her dogs loose on them if they tried to take tourists there. We tried to find Elvira, but the place people pointed us towards to was closed by a gate. We didn't try to open it, because of the dogs... Apparently Elvira has told people the ruins are hers. A sad situation.

Shame! The place is great! The story telling is great! The attender was very cool and gentle! It’s wine is good level but it s not acceptable that they just serve the entry level wine to taste! This is a very bad habits of all the wineries in humauaca!
Less Enotourism and more wine ! This is my advice

This is small museum/historical landmark, that is worth a quick stop on the way . There is relatively little to see but the place is overall nicely organized and historical explanations are quite interesting. The building itself is very nice.

Visited on a day that the village celebrate the national day of music! Kids from the local music school performed on the spot. What a treat!

This cemetery is well worth a visit if you are passing. Graves are in the hillside and decorated with colourful artificial flowers. The hillside can be climbed and great views await at the top.

Typical local market place with lots of very nice local things, souvenirs, etc. you can buy. The quality of the textiles is outstanding for very reasonable prices. Very relaxed atmosphere and normally good weather, even in winter time.

We visited this museum as part of a much longer day hiking and exploring. The art was exceptional-of the quality you might see at a much larger museum. I’m glad we visited!
