Wanderlust is waiting for you! Come and experience the magic of this energetic city. We walk daily. From Monday to Friday the "Cape Town on Foot & Bo-Kaap" walk sets off at 11h00 and Saturday at 10h00. We explore the historic city centre - but don't fear, its not all history!- the former Dutch East India Company's Garden and the country's oldest Muslim area, the Bo-Kaap. Culture, history, architecture are on our agenda, we try to connect to the locals so that you can get the feel of the city. The walks last about 2.5 hours and can be handled by anybody, there is no steep uphill except for the gentle rise towards the Bo-Kaap. We conduct the walks in English and German, depending on the composition of the group. Tours in French only by prior arrangement. The cost is R 180.00 per person (subject to change), accompanied children under 14 are free. Private tours can be arranged. In the winter months it is advisable to make a reservation as in inclement weather the walk may not take place. You may make your bookings at the offices of Cape Town Tourism or the German Bookshop Ulrich Naumann, both situated in Burg Street. No deposit payment is necessary, you pay on the day of the walk.N.B. In June 2013 the walk will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; starting time and place as usual.For the other days please make a reservation at least a day beforehand. The guide in June will be Wolfgang Pasche.

Touring with Vamos is like being a guest in our neighbourhood! We live here, this is our home and you are our special guest.Our experiences too, are different. We take smaller groups on interactive walking or cycling tours around Langa. We visit friends in their homes and shacks, we hear their stories, we show you their businesses, we share traditional Xhosa beer, we smell sidewalk barbecues, (taste if you'd like), visit shebeens and spaza stores. We want to share with you, a slice of life in the townships.On weekday mornings, your tour will include a meal, usually a barbecue at the well-known Mzoli's in Guguletu. Our afternoon tours include a visit to the Happy Feet Youth Project. On Sundays, we include a visit to a Gospel Church. The unexpected thing about a tour with Vamos, is that most guests come away feeling positive and inspired. Our tours are not about poverty .... yes you will see signs of poverty, but rather our tours are about people and how they are lifting themselves out of their poverty. Positive, resilient, hopeful people who are friendly, welcoming and proud of their culture and history.
