The Lowveld National Botanical Garden in Nelspruit, ‘grows’ magically out of the confluence of the Crocodile and Nels Rivers and offers up a magnificent array of nature’s treasures. The two rivers create spectacular waterfalls which give this Garden its visually spectacular character.

The Sudwala Caves is the oldest known caves in the world and lie in the Drakensberg escarpment.Regular guided tours take you 600 meters in and 150 meters underground. Tours leave every 10 min (approx) and take about 30 minutes. The caves have some amazing formations including stalactites, stalagmites, flow stones and pre cambrian fossils. The most famous formation is the Screaming Monster. This is actually a stalactite that has joined with a stalagmite and has formed a column that is 200 million years old.

"I can't recommend this tour highly enough. I decided on doing the 2 day, 1 night and was happy I did. It included 5 different game drives (2 early morning, 2 mid day, 1 late afternoon/night drive). Dave is a great tour guide, keeping everyone engaged, laughing and educated. We saw lions, cheetah, hy..."ena, and almost everything else we could have asked for (damn elusive leapord!)
The food is fantastic as well. We had a BBQ lunch while 6 Bull elephants drank and cleaned themselves in a watering hole.

"Although this was not my first trip to Kruger, it was definitely the most enjoyable. We stayed at Satara the first night and Skusza the second. The Sunset Drive from Satara was great although, if going at this time of year, make sure to dress warmly. The open trucks can get quite cold. To watch ..."cheetahs stalking prey, rhino's, elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, etc, is awe inspiring. I highly recommend at least 2 days. At Satara and Skusza, the bungalows all have braai set ups and food may be bought at the shops there in the camp. If you don't want to braai, each camp also has restaurants. A very worthwhile trip

"To little space, to much to say, I have been a frequent visitor to the park since a very young child, these pics are from the 2012 trip, we stayed at Mopani, Olifants only as it was a last minute arrangement, to get in at Satara which I believe is the best game viewing camp you have to book long in..." advance. We have a booking for this July for Satara and Olifants which we made last September, the bungalows overlooking prime river frontage in both cases.
KNP is considered the prime game reserve in the universe and certainly the most cost effective safari option.
